MUSIC NEWS - Billy F Gibbons and Dusty Hill, two-thirds of ZZ Top, will be heard playing "Not My
Job" on Wait, Wait ... Don't Tell Me! this weekend. It's NPR's weekly news quiz and the guys will be asked questions about a topic about which they know nothing. They'll be relying on hirsute intuition and life experience to get the answers right.
If you didn't know, "Wait, Wait ... Don't Tell Me!" is NPR's humorous news quiz show, or as they call it - NPR without the dignity. Heard by more than 3 million people across the country on 500+ stations each week, with 1.5 million more people podcasting the show each month. Each week they invite a celebrity on to play "Not My Job."
Host Peter Sagal asks three multiple choice questions on a very random topic. It’s a great way for the audience to get to know notable people in an unexpected context. In the past, they've asked Barack Obama about baseball, John McCain about weird websites. Among the many others who’ve played the game and had a good time doing it: Supreme Court Justice Stephen Breyer, Energy Secretary Steven Chu, Senator Claire McCaskill, Rep.Aaron Schock, Rep. Henry Waxman, DHS Secretary Janet Napolitano, Tom Hanks, Stephen Colbert, Jimmy Fallon, Tina Fey, William H. Macy, Mavis Staples, They Might Be Giants, indie singer-songwriter Neko Case, legendary singer Andy Williams, the NBA’s Chris Paul, celebrity chef Paula Deen, Tom Brokaw, and Brian Williams. The list goes on and on…
We’re very excited to see (most of) ZZ Top participating!
The program airs on just about every NPR station but not at the same time so check out when your local affiliate runs the show* to catch the show. We're sure there will be no questions about hot rods, guitars, the blues or Mexican food !
