Lanois, 58, was hospitalized with “multiple injuries” as a result of the crash, according to a press release. Fortunately, the musician and producer (Peter Gabriel, U2, Bob Dylan, Willie Nelson) “is expected to be released from intensive care soon.” “Due to the severity of the injuries, Lanois … will be recuperating for the next two months.”
If you have tickets for Black Dub’s July 2010 European tour check with point of purchase for refund information. And, Jive Records has said the group’s debut album is being postponed and will be released “when circumstances permit.”
We wish Mr Lanois a speedy recovery!
UPDATE 6/22/10- Dan apparently is doing much better now. After two weeks in the hospital, he is back at home now and on the mend. Fortunately all of his injuries are ones that will heal with time.
