MUSIC NEWS- The YES / PETER FRAMPTON concert in Concho, OK booked for July 6 was cancelled and will be re-scheduled at the Lucky Star Casino after a gust of wind caused the event’s tent to collapse, and resulting in injuries to six people. The accident and resulting equipment damage forced the cancellation of the performers' concert tonight (July 7) in Albuquerque, NM. The 70s classic rockers have been on a summer co-headlining tour of the USA since June, with a final show on July 15 (tour news, here)
KOCO-TV News reported that two people were taken to a local hospital. Grammy winner Frampton, who was not in the tent at the of the incident which occured hours before the show, has posted on his Facebook page that a local stage hand has a broken leg, Steve Howe's (YES) guitar tech injured his arm and “Tiffany”, who handles merch for Yes, suffered injury to her ribs.
Original YES member, bassist Chris Squire said; “Nothing as tremendous as this disaster has ever happened in YES’ forty-two year career,”. “Most importantly, my thoughts go out to any of the crew that were injured. We’d like to thank our fans for their continued support and we will be up and running in Los Angeles on Friday.”
