MUSIC NEWS - News on the 2011 KahBang music | art | film Festival is out! The third-annual KahBang will be held August 5 thru 13 along the Bangor Waterfront and in multiple venues throughout the historic downtown area. During the festival’s nine day span, KahBang will showcase over 40 bands on multiple stages along the Waterfront as well as additional performances in Bangor, ME venues, clubs and bars. Additional acts and festival details will follow in the upcoming weeks.
2011 boasts KahBang’s most ambitious music lineup yet and will feature a diverse music selection from a large spectrum of musical genres in order to bring a truly unique festival experience to the Northeast. My Morning Jacket will bring their critically acclaimed, Grammy-nominated rock to the Waterfront, with more performances from Chromeo, New-England’s own Grace Potter & The Nocturnals, Atmosphere, Surfer Blood, Atomic Tom, Dom, Evidence, Blueprint, Prof, Maine native Lady Lamb the BeeKeeper as well as a repeat performance from fan-favorites and KahBang alumni, The Gay Blades. Additional artists, film and art festival details and second lineup will be announced in the coming weeks.
KahBang 2011 continues the expansion of the festival in size and scope. Established in 2009, KahBang began as a one-day concert event on the Bangor Waterfront and expanded in 2010 to 9 days with the inclusion of film and art as well as the KahBang @ Night events.
