MUSIC NEWS - Scott Johnson, Radiohead crew member has died and at least three more injured after a massive accident just hours before the band was to take the stage. A stage technician was killed and at least three people were seriously injured after a stage collapsed at Toronto's Downsview Park a few hours before Radiohead was to take the stage, reports the CBC. Toronto police officer Harrison Ford told the media: “All I can say is that a portion of the stage did collapse. We can confirm that one person is deceased.”
Emergency crews were first called around 4 pm ET, with as many as five ambulances, two police cars and a firetruck arriving at the scene. Caribou was set to open the sold-out show, which was expected to have 40,000 people present.The gates had been scheduled to open at 5 pm for the 7:30 pm show tonight, and thousands were lined up when representatives from Live Nation, the concert's promoter, announced the show had been canceled.
Concertgoers were shocked and have been heading back to their cars since word spread of the accident. No news yet on refunds, but as usual, go to place of purchase.
