MUSIC NEWS- DAVE STEWART will return to Los Angeles’ Troubadour for a special “Dave Stewart and Friends” concert event on Friday, September 28. The performance will mark the British singer, songwriter and guitarist’s first Los Angeles show since the release of his new THE RINGMASTER GENERAL album, out earlier this month. For this performance, STEWART will be joined by friends: Orianthi, Dana Glover, Nik West, Randy Cooke, Amy Keys, Kieran Kiely and Ann Marie Calhoun, along with other special guests.
THE RINGMASTER GENERAL (out via Weapons of Mass Entertainment/Surfdog) is a distinctive musical gumbo with rock, blues, country, rhythm & blues and psychedelia. It was recorded and mixed by John McBride at the famed studio he owns with Martina McBride, Blackbird Studio. It features thirteen new songs; including duets with Alison Krauss, Diane Birch and Joss Stone, as well as one sung with and co-written by Jessie Baylin.
The blistering guitar skills of Orianthi are featured as well. As with The Blackbird Diaries, tge former Eurthymic' STEWART is backed by some of the finest musicians in Nashville including: guitarist Tom Bukovac, drummer Chad Cromwell, bassist Michael Rhodes, steel guitarist Dan Dugmore and Mike Rojas on piano.
