MUSIC NEWS - GREEN DAY tells fans they were "devastated" at having to cancel a concert in Bologna, Italy last night after singer Billie Joe Armstrong was rushed to a local hospital.
In a video to fans, which you can view below, bassist Mike Dirnt and drummer Tre Cool said: "We sincerely apologize to our fans, but unfortunately due to illness Billie Joe has been hospitalized, and we regretfully must cancel our performance in Bologna, Italy this evening. We are beyond devastated and will make it up to you when we come back next summer."
Details on Armstrong’s illness have not been made public, so we're not sure what happened or of his current condition. The band's upcoming new album, the trilogy, '¡Uno!, ¡Dos!, ¡Tré!', will be released in three stages in September, November, then January 2013.
