MUSIC NEWS - Brandi Carlile has revealed she'll give her new single, "Keep Your Heart Young," its television debut on "Conan" on Thursday, November 8th. "Keep Your Heart Young" is the second single from her Top 10 album, Bear Creek (out iva Columbia Records), and follows the Top 5 Triple A radio hit "That Wasn't Me."
"Hard Way Home," another track from Bear Creek was selected for a recent episode of The CW's "Hart of Dixie" and "Raise Hell" was featured in the Travel Channel's "No Reservations" with host Anthony Bourdain.
Ms Carlile kicks off the fall leg of her 2012 tour this Thursday, October 11, at the Knitting Factory in Spokane, WA with Blitzen Trapper opening from October 14 through November 2.
She will play two shows at the Beacon Theatre in New York City (10/28 & 29). She will
also play three special hometown shows with the Seattle Symphony at Benaroya Hall, where she recorded her first live album. The November 23rd and 24th concerts will include her band, while the November 25th show will be an acoustic performance.
On November 30th, Carlile will appear at the Fitzgerald Theater in St. Paul along with top-touring comedian Maria Bamford in an episode of "Wits," a live public radio show from American Public Media that combines music, comedy and conversation. The first-ever "GRAMMY U Songwriting Master Classses with Brandi Carlile" will be offered in five cities along the tour route; Philadelphia, Baltimore, New York City, Oakland and Los Angeles. Carlile is joining forces with GRAMMY U to initiate this brand new program, which gives up-and-coming songwriters a chacnce to develope their skills in a small group setting. After observing Carlile's soundcheck, students will participate in a session with Brandi and her bandmates/writing partners Tim and Phil Hanseroth, who will discuss how they approach the songwriting process.
