Unable to fly last week due to doctor's orders, Ward said he's on his way to a full recovery and is deeply disappointed that he won't be able to complete these scheduled performances in Chicago and Cleveland.
In a statement released on Monday he noted, "Out of millions of lead guitar players in the
world, Chuck Berry stands alone as a true inventor of the artform. Everyone who plays guitar is indebted to his creations whether or not they realize it. "Roll Over Beethoven" is a perfect song - one that we recorded a few years ago, released this year and continue to play every chance we get. I am honored to have been given an opportunity to share a stage with Mr. Berry but, unfortunately, a stupid virus has kept me home in bed. I'll be there in spirit."
