MUSIC NEWS - This week brought us David Bowie’s new album The Next Day, first full-length studio album since 2003’s Reality and hints for his wife, Iman, that the singer would return to the concert stage for a tour. She apparently spilled the beans about the long-awaited run during an interview with a British magazine. The supermodel made the comment about a tour when talking with Grazia about the couple’s daughter. Since then, several publications have quoted the statement from the interview, which has yet to be posted on Grazia’s website.
“We have a 12-year-old in school, so we are stuck, we can’t travel,” Iman said (via New York Daily News). “Our schedule is around her, so I don’t know. We’ll have to go visit him, but we won’t be on tour with him because she’s in school.”
MNN, like many fans, are waiting on official word from his management about cities, venues and dates.
Last month Rolling Stone interviewed guitarist Gerry Leonard, who said there was a 50/50 chance Bowie would hit the road. “A couple of times, when we played back one of the more kick-ass tunes from the new record, he’d be like, ‘This would be great live!’ Of course, everyone was like, ‘What? Did he just say that?’ But other times he’d just roll his eyes if someone brought up playing live.
