MUSIC NEWS - Guitarist Robby Krieger says he and drummer John Densmore plan to perform a US reunion concert to honor Ray Manzarek, their late band mate from The Doors. Manzarek died of cancer in May at the age of 74. Concert details tbd.
Densmore had been feuding with Krieger since 2002 when Krieger and Manzarek began touring again under the name The Doors of the 21st Century, prompting Densmore to sue them over the rights to the use of The Doors name.
"I can't hate him forever," Krieger told Billboard.com recently. "I just wish [Densmore] had wanted to play with Ray and I before this all started." When asked if a reunion tour might be possible, Krieger told the music site; "We are going to do at least one show for Ray and have a big send-off. That's either the start of it or the end of it, I don't know."
Krieger, Densmore and Manzarek founded The Doors in 1965 with lead singer Jim Morrison, who died in 1971 at 27. The surviving members of the rock group continued to perform together until spilting up in 1973.
