MUSIC NEWS- It's been announced that Bruno Mars will music have help from the Red Hot Chili Peppers at the Super Bowl next month in E. Rutherford, NJ. Mars said Saturday that the Rock and Roll Hall of Famers will join him as part of the halftime show.
Super Bowl halftime performers often have collaborators as with last year's Beyonce and Kelly Rowland along with Michelle Williams from her Destiny's Child days up on the temporary stage with her. Two years ago Nicki Minaj and M.I.A. joined Madonna for her halftime performance.
Mars was named Billboard's 2013 artist of the year. His hits include the #1 tune "When I Was Your Man" and his Grammy-nominated sophomore album, "Unorthodox Jukebox," has sold almost 2M copies. L.A.'s Red Hot Chili Peppers are singer Anthony Kiedis, bassist Flea, drummer, Chad Smith, and guitarist Josh Klinghoffer. The rock/funk/punk band have sold more than 60M albums, including five multi-platinum LPs, and won six Grammy Awards, including "Best Rock Album" for Stadium Arcadium, "Best Rock Performance By a Duo or Group" for "Dani California," "Best Rock Song" for "Scar Tissue," and "Best Hard Rock Performance With Vocal" for "Give It Away." The band was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in April 2012. The Red Hot Chili Peppers' latest studio album, I'm With You, was released on August 29, 2011 via Warner Bros Records.
