Music News- Kings Of Leon were forced to postpone a New York State gig over the weekend after drummer Nathan Followill broke his ribs in a tour bus accident.
The Sex On Fire band were traveling to their concert in Saratoga Springs, NY when the accident occurred, resulting in their inability to perform.
A statement on KOL's official Facebook page read: "Due to an accident on their tour bus, Kings of Leon will unfortunately have to postpone tonight's show in Saratoga Springs, NY.
The band were on their way to a hotel after their show in Boston when a pedestrian jumped in front of their tour bus, causing the bus to stop short, injuring Nathan Followill.
"Nathan is being treated for broken ribs, but is doing well. The band will postpone the show that was planned for tonight August 10th, until further notice. Refunds for ticket holders will be available at point of purchase."
Nathan's brother Jared later tweeted: "So sad this am. Bus accident last night. Nathan has broken ribs. This was the most fun tour in a while. We'll be back ASAP. #GetWellNate."
Kings Of Leon have two more months booked on their current tour, with the run due to end in Mexico City on October 12. No word yet on how many other dates will be impacted by his injury.
UPDATE 8/11/14- Dr. Faiz Bhora, Chief of Thoracic Surgery at Mount Sinai Roosevelt Hospital said; "The process is now to rest in order for healing to take place. To avoid complications and to make a full recovery, a break from performing to August 28th is necessary." The group will return to the road on August 28, 2014 to perform at PNC Bank Arts Center in Holmdel, NJ.
