Music News- Jefferson Airplane and Jefferson Starship co-founder, guitarist Paul Kantner has been hospitalized with a suspected heart attack.
Kantner, who now fronts an updated version of Jefferson Starship, is the only member to have been a part of every lineup of both Jefferson Airplane and Jefferson Starship. Jefferson Airplane was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame back in 1996.
71-year-old Kantner's health status was confirmed by a post on the band’s Facebook page, which read,
"Hey everybody, Paul's health took a bad turn this week. He's in the hospital, stable and undergoing tests to find out exactly what's going on but doctors suspect he had a heart attack. He is in the best possible care and we are sending him all of our best wishes, good thoughts and healing vibes. We're continuing the tour without him, as most of the shows are sold out or close to it and we have to honor our contracts and our fans who bought tickets and put on the best show possible. We will dedicate every show to Paul until he is well enough to rejoin us onstage. Thank you for your continued support during this difficult time.
Our best wishes to him and his family
