MUSIC NEWS- After a successful, critically acclaimed 2013 festival (which sold-out in a record 90 minutes) Sasquatch! is set for event more in 2014. The festival will return to The Gorge; the internationally lauded and Billboard “Top Amphitheater” award-winning concert venue carved in the basalt cliffs high above the Columbia River Gorge in Quincy, WA, not for one, but two weekends.
Each weekend; May 23-25 (Memorial Day) and July 4 thru 6, will feature completely separate lineups, which will be announced in full in February. In the meantime, a limited number of discounted 3-day festival passes will be available in time for the holiday gift season on Friday, November 29 at 9:00 am (PST) via sasquatchfestival.com and will remain available through 11:45 pm on December 31 (or while supplies last). Discounted passes are available if purchasing both weekends.
MUSIC NEWS - With a wildfire that contines to grow near Yosemite National Park, news is out that the Strawberry Music Festival, held in nearby Groveland, CA has been cancelled. The festival has released an announcement indicating the Labor Day event can’t be held on the site as planned.
The fall edition of Strawberry Festival, which is also held over Memorial Day weekend, was scheduled for August 29 through September 2 at Camp Mather, west of Yosemite National Park. The lineup was to feature The Mavericks, Patty Griffin, The Del McCoury Band and more.

MUSIC NEWS- Promoters Superfly Productions and A.C. Entertainment have announced the dates for the 13th annual Bonnaroo Music and Arts Festival. We now know, the top notch music fest is confirmed to take place June 12 thru 15, 2014. And, the four-day festival will once again be held at the same beautiful, 700-acre farm in Manchester, Tennessee, 60 miles southeast of Nashville.
After yet another unforgettable sell-out year in 2013, Bonnaroo organizers are once again back to the drawing board, ensuring that the 2014 event will have one of the most eclectic and striking lineups as well as the most diverse selection of entertainment options of any festival in the country.
MUSIC NEWS- Musicians Jack Johnson, Amos Lee, Kacey Musgraves and Toad the Wet Sprocket are among the performers added appear at Farm Aid 2013 in upstate New York, organizers said.
The music and food festival is scheduled for September 21 at Saratoga Performing Arts Center in Saratoga Springs, NY.
Lukas Nelson & Promise of the Real, Bahamas, JD & The Straight Shot, Carlene Carter and Pegi Young & the Survivors also will join Farm Aid board members Neil Young, Willie Nelson, John Mellencamp and Dave Matthews for the show.
"The Farm Aid benefit concert takes place each year thanks to the generosity of artists who donate their talent to raise awareness about the crucial need we have for family farmers on the land," Carolyn Mugar, executive director of Farm Aid, said in a statement Monday. "We are thrilled to have an eclectic lineup this year that includes returning artists, as well as artists new to the Farm Aid stage. Together, Farm Aid concertgoers and artists are changing our food system."
MUSIC NEWS- Outside Lands festival promoters have announced that a limited amount of Single-Day GA and Single-Day VIP tickets to the Outside Lands Music and Arts Festival will go on sale Wednesday, June 26 at 10am PDT via SFOutsidelands.com. The world's only gourmet music festival that Rolling Stone called "one of America's best," will once again take place in San Francisco's historic Golden Gate Park August 9 - 11, 2013. A significant portion of every ticket sold will directly benefit San Francisco's Recreation and Park Department.
The single-day artist lineups have been confirmed; full breakdown is shown below. Friday features the legendary Paul McCartney closing out the evening, as well as Pretty Lights, The National and D'Angelo, who is back after taking a 12-year break from the stage. Saturday includes one of the first performances by Nine Inch Nails since their 2009 tour, and also features Phoenix, Yeah Yeah Yeahs and Jurassic 5. MUSIC NEWS- Promoters of the Electric Daisy Carnival dance music festival in Chicago, IL announced that they would lower the volume after complaints from nearby residents.
Residents in Mokena, Joliet, New Lenox, Elwood and Frankford, IL filed complaints Saturday after the first night of the three-day festival took place at the Chicago Speedway, the Chicago Sun-Times reported Sunday.
Neighbors from as far away as seven miles from the speedway said they could hear the booming of the music and fireworks on Friday night, the newspaper said.
"It drove you crazy," said Joliet Township resident Diane Sharp. "I'm hoping that this will never happen again, that there will be enough complaints that they won't bring it back here."
MUSIC NEWS - Razor & Tie music has announced this week the addition of post-hardcore giants Chiodos to their roster. The band is currently touring and into the writing process of their forthcoming new studio album which will be released through a newly created band label imprint via Razor & Tie.
The new music has founding members Bradley Bell, Pat Mcmanaman, Derrick Frost, and Matt Goddard reunited with founding front man, Craig Owens. The new release will also introduce you to the band’s newest member, guitarist Thomas Erak (formerly from The Fall Of Troy).
MUSIC NEWS- If you attended this year's Coachella, the memories are still fresh, but don't dwell on the past as organizers are already getting ready for 2014. The event promoter, Goldenvoice, announced Monday morning that next year's festival is boooked for April 11 thru 13 and April 18 thru 20. The first round of advance ticket sales will happend this Friday at 10 am (Pacific) at coachella.com.
For those on a budget, this round of ticket sales is the only one where you use Coachella's installment payment plan.
MUSIC NEWS - Interlocken, a 4-day music festival, with an emphasis on world class music, locally sourced food and sustainability, is confirmed for 2013 to run September 5 through 8 at Oak Ridge Farm at the foot of the Blue Ridge in Arlington, Virginia. Arlington is in central VA, just 35 miles south of Charlottesville, and approximately 100 miles from both Washington, DC, and Richmond,VA.
Neil Young & Crazy Horse, Furthur, Zac Brown, The String Cheese Incident, and The Black Crowes have been booked. Many of the artists will be performing at Interlocken several times over multiple days, and will be featured in artist pairings; with additional performers yet to be announced. Artist pre-sale tickets will be available beginning May 22 at 10am EST and general "early bird" tickets will go on sale May 23 at 10am EST. All Tickets will be sold via interlockenfestival.com.
MUSIC NEWS- Rockers, Furthur have canceled their appearance at the BottleRock Napa Valley music festival after guitarist Bob Weir fell onstage at a NY area concert last week.
Weir said on his website Tuesday that the Grateful Dead offshoot band is "unable to perform for the next several weeks ... due to unforeseen circumstances."
Weir was quickly helped off the floor after collapsing onstage at a concert last week at the Capitol Theater in Port Chester, NY. Further were scheduled to play May 9 at the Napa, CA event.
The statement went on that the 65-year-old Weir plans to return to the road in late June for solo shows.
Weir formed Furthur with fellow Grateful Dead member Phil Lesh. Furthur's summer 2013 tour kicks off July 11 in Brooklyn, NY.
