KORN Adds Tour Dates

MUSIC NEWS -  With the hugely successful first leg of concert dates to promote their recently released album The Path of Totality, Korn will be back on the road for a second leg of the Path of Totality Tour. The new round of shows for the Bakersfield, CA rockers will kick off on February 23 in Detroit, running through the Midwest before heading back West and wrapping up on March 4 in San Francisco. Kill the Noise will be on the bill at certain dates, while Korn's own Jonathan Davis will also debut his brand new DJ set as his J Devil alter ego.

The Path of Totality is another experimental chapter in Korn's rich history. The album has the band changing gears, taking a bit of a creative left turn to explore new territory with some of the hottest emerging producers and talent in the electronic scene.  With it they remain fresh and relevant while collaborating with electronic producers Skrillex, 12^th Planet, Kill the Noise, Excision, Flinch, Noisia, Datsik, Downlink, Feed Me and more.

Red Hot Chili Peppers Announce USA Tour Dates

MUSIC NEWS- The Red Hot Chili Peppers will launch the North American portion of their I'm With You World Tour in January 2012. Tickets for the first round of six shows go on sale on December 3 (see below for itinerary) with additional shows and ticket on-sale news to be announced in the coming weeks. The 2012 arena tour will be the band's first full-scale tour of the USA since 2007 when they hit the road to support 2006's Stadium Arcadium.  The band is currently touring Europe through mid-December .

Guns N' Roses Announce Their First USA Tour in Five Years

MUSIC NEWS - Guns N’ Roses have today announced they’ll hit the road for their their first US tour in five years, starting off on October 28 in Orlando, FL. The group will play more than thirty concerts in the USA  from October to New Year’s Eve on the Monster Energy sponsored tour. Before the stateside run, GNR will tour Latin America, starting with a sold out, headline slot for the closing day of the Rock in Rio festival in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil on October 2, in front of 75,000 concert-goers.

AVENGED SEVENFOLD Reveals "Buried Alive" Tour

MUSIC NEWS-  After wrapping up their fall dates on The Rockstar Energy Drink UPROAR Festival, Avenged Sevenfold will be back on the road for a headlining tour they've named "Buried Alive".  The run starts up in Ft. Meyers, FL, on November 23 with tickets for all shows going on sale this Friday, September 23 (except for shows in Minneapolis and Yakima, WA, which go on sale Saturday, September 24).  Hollywood Undead, Asking Alexandria, and Black Veil Brides are also on the bill, offering you an impressive value.

The tour takes its name from "Buried Alive," the fourth single from the Huntington Beach, CA, rock band's gold album Nightmare. 

"I'M WITH YOU" Set for August Release by Red Hot Chili Peppers

MUSIC NEWS - Funk rockers Red Hot Chili Peppers will return with a new album, their tenth studio set, called I’m With You on August 30, 2011 via Warner Bros Records.  It'll be the followup to the band's 2006 Grammy-winning double album, Stadium Arcadium. The new LP has the band again teaming with producer Rick Rubin.

The label says the official track listing and album cover art will be available in a few weeks, but be on the lookout for the first single, The Adventures Of Raindance Maggie on July 18.
The band, with new guitarist Josh Klinghoffer, will play Japan’s Summer Sonic Festival in Osaka on August 13th and in Tokyo on August 14th. They’re also going to headline the Rock in Rio Festival in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil on September 24th.

New Jane's Addiction "End to the Lies" Video Unveiled

MUSIC NEWS -  Jane's Addiction have partnered with ArtistDirect to debut the music video for their track "End To The Lies", which is off their forthcoming album 'The Great Escape Artist'. To direct the video, the band enlisted the help of ShadowMachine Films (Adult Swim's Robot Chicken) to create a visually stunning piece of art. The video can be viewed below.

Jane's Addiction will release their new album 'The Great Escape Artist' in August through Capitol Records.

SOUNDGARDEN Adds Dates to Their North American Tour

MUSIC NEWS - Soundgarden has revealed thirteen additional shows to their July 2011 tour, including a performance at the Ottawa Blues Fest on July 5 to complete their Summer run. The long awaited announcement of the band’s first tour in over 13 years was greeted with an outpouring of excitement by critics and fans alike.  Coheed and Cambria and The Mars Volta will open for Soundgarden on the first and second half of the tour respectively with the Queens of the Stone Age and Meat Puppets  joining the band on the last two dates of the tour.

BLACK COUNTRY COMMUNION Reveals "2" Album Release Plans and USA Tour

MUSIC NEWS - Black Country Communion, the Anglo-American rock supergroup that contains the talents of bassist/vocalist Glenn Hughes (Deep Purple,  Black Sabbath), blues rock guitarist/vocalist Joe Bonamassa, drummer Jason Bonham (Led Zeppelin), and keyboardist Derek Sherinian (Dream Theater), has announced the title of its anticipated second album. The album will be called "2" and will be released in the USA on June 14, 2011 on the NYC J&R Adventures label.

DEF LEPPARD & HEART Announce Summer USA Tour

MUSIC NEWS - British rockers Def Leppard announced plans today (February 25, 2011)  for a USA summer concert tour with HEART on the bill.  The series of concerts start up on June 15 in West Palm Beach, FL with tickets going on sale March 4.

"After having had the last 18 months off, Leppard are ready to get back on the road! Add Heart to the bill and it truly makes for a special evening," Def Leppard's Joe Elliott said in a statement.

AC/DC Plan CD/DVD Release in the Spring

MUSIC NEWS - Rockers, AC/DC are ready to release a live CD/DVD package this spring.  The band filmed three shows on their Black Ice Tour at the Buenos Aires' River Plate Stadium back in December of 2009. 

Lead singer, Brian Johnson recently told the motor racing news service OversteerTV about the set.  He said; “We’ve got a new live album which we shot in Argentina at the end of the last tour, which was about September. The live album comes out, with the video of those concerts, in about six weeks or something. So I’m looking forward to that.”

He noted that the the Australian rockers had no definite plans after this project.

STEVEN TYLER Book Due Out by Father's Day

MUSIC NEWS - Aerosmith frontman and new "American Idol" judge, STEVEN TYLER, has reportedly wrapped out his memoir with plans to have it out May 11, 2011, publisher Ecco announced.  The memoir, "Does the Noise in My Head Bother You?" written by Tyler in collaboration with David Dalton has been in the works for two years, reports The Boston Globe .

Ecco, an imprint of HarperCollins, reported paid the Boston rocker, Tyler, $2M for the work.  Dalton has previously written books on Andy Warhol, Janis Joplin and James Dean.

JOE BONAMASSA Announces "Dust Bowl" Release

MUSIC NEWS - Provogue Records has announce that guitarist Joe Bonamassa will release his 12th full- length solo album, DUST BOWL in the USA on March 22, 2011 (UK release is March 21).  The album release will coincide with Bonamassa's upcoming Dust Bowl 2011 World Tour that will take him to cities across America, Canada, Europe, Asia and Australia.

"I think Dust Bowl is the best album we've ever done," said Bonamassa recently. "I'm finding more inspiration in storytelling in my 30s, in writing songs that are about something more profound than my baby left me.’ I like albums that are made with the right intentions and sound organic and a little rough around the edges, like a great band playing live in the room."

Travis Barker Readies "GIVE THE DRUMMER SOME" For March Release

MUSIC NEWS- After releasing two tracks, "Jump Down"  and "Carry It," from his upcoming solo album via iTunes, and tipping off his Twitter followers with news updates, Blink-182 drummer and hip-hop producer Travis Barker has confirmed some details about the new 12 track album (and 16 track deluxe version), GIVE THE DRUMMER SOME, (releasing March 15, 2011 via Interscope Records). 

The first single will be "Can A Drummer Get Some," featuring The Game, Swizz Beats, Lil Wayne, and Rick Ross. "Jump Down," featuring The Cool Kids, and "Carry It," featuring RZA, Raekwon, and Tom Morello, are currently available on iTunes.

SOUNDGARDEN's New "Live on I5" Album

MUSIC NEWS - 2010 gave us the reunited Soundgarden;  Chris Cornell, Kim Thayil, Ben Shepherd and Matt Cameron, after a 13-year absence to an amazing reponse.   And, as promised, the band have now announced that they’ll release their first-ever collection of live tracks on March 22, 2011 through UMe. 

Calling it Live on I5, a reference to the Interstate Highway #5 that runs up and down the West Coast, the new collection compiles live tracks from a 1996 tour by the band and captures the band at the height of their recording and touring career.  This compilation includes fan favorites like “Spoonman”, “Rusty Cage”, “Burden In My Hand,” and “Black Hole Sun” (performed by Chris Cornell solo), as well what insiders have said is the definitive live performance of “Jesus Christ Pose.”  As a bonus, the disc includes two brilliantly inspired covers:  The Beatles’ “Helter Skelter” and The Stooges’ anarchic proto-punk classic, “Search & Destroy.”

STEVEN TYLER Can Do Both; Aerosmith Member and Idol Judge

MUSIC NEWS - At Tuesday's Television Critics Association press conference, Steven Tyler said his Idol judge job doesn't mean the end of his involvement with AEROSMITH. The group's lead singer said he expects Aerosmith to start writing songs later this month as the start work on their first new album in nearly decade, and that a concert tour been's booked for South America and Japan for November and December.

"We're still rocking, big-time," Tyler said at the news conference with the 'Idol' cast.  Though Tyler did sigh when asked whether that meant the band was OK with his new TV job.  Previously, lead guitarist Joe Perry complained publicly that he found out about Tyler's "American Idol" gig via the internet.  Last fall,Tyler said in an interview that he was having trouble finding Perry to discuss the arrangement.  

You know, I got some stuff," Tyler said. "Everybody's got their opinions. I just wanted to test my limitations."
