KINGS OF LEON Announce "Radioactive" Single Release

MUSIC NEWS-  RCA Records has announced that "Radioactive" will be the first single off Kings of Leon's new album, Come Around Sundown with the video premiering on kingsofleon.com and Vevo on September
8th. 

Come Around Sundown will be releasing on October 19th, with pre-orders starting on September 14. The set will be available in two configuration; standard as well as a deluxe version that will include bonus tracks. Kings of Leon recorded the new album in New York CIty at Avatar Studios with Angelo Petraglia and Jacquire King producing.

OK Go Announce Autumn Tour and "White Knuckles" Contest

MUSIC NEWS -  OK Go, the most downloaded band ever, will launch an extensive North American
tour with a performance in California at the Los Angeles County Fair on October 3rd.  Tickets are on sale now. In addition to their headlining shows, the band will perform at the Discover Louisville Festival (10/12) and the PopTech Conference (10/21, Camden, ME).  PopTech is an annual event that convenes a network of visionary individuals in science, technology, design, the corporate and social sectors, entrepreneurship, education and the arts to explore the nature of creative change.

OK Go have partnered with Indaba Music and the Rock Band Network to launch a remix contest for their new single, "White Knuckles."  OK Go encourages fans to get as creative as possible, to not feel afraid to redefine the song in both genre and feeling. The contest runs from September 7th through October 14th, details soon @  okgo.net.    Each week starting on September 21, Dave Fridmann, producer of "White Knuckles" and the album Of the Blue Colour of the Sky, chooses his favorite remixes to feature across all OK Go web properties.

biffy clyro Announces US Tour and "Only Revolutions" Release

MUSIC NEWS - UK band biffy clyro today announced plans to make their first USA headlining tour, kicking off in Allston, MA on September 13.  Their latest album, Only Revolutions, has been nominated for the 2010 Mercury Prize.  In good company, past shortlist nominees for the prestigious UK award include Florence and the Machine, Radiohead, and Franz Ferdinand.   Only Revolutions is releasing in the USA on September 21 and will be available at select indie record stores through Junketboy Distribution. STEEL TRAIN Joins Yo Gabba Gabba! and fun. Tours!

MUSIC NEWS - New Jersey indie rockers, Steel Train has announced that they will share the stage with the cast of  kid's show Yo Gabba Gabba! on the "Yo Gabba Gabba Live!" tour.  Among the other "Super Music Friends" guests on the tour are Mates of State, Amanda Palmer, Kid Koala, OK Go and many others. 

Steel Train joins an illustrious list of the show's past musical guests that includes Weezer, The Shins, MGMT, The Roots, Chromeo and The Ting Tings.  Yo Gabba Gabba! Tour itinerary is below.  This tour is in addition to their other concert plans ; and a handful of one-off shows, and a full blown tour with fun. that kicks off September 29th.

NEVER SHOUT NEVER Return With "Harmony"

MUSIC NEWS - HARMONY, the new alburm from ne of the year’s most buzzed-about acts, Never Shout Never, fronted by 19-year-old singer-songwriter Christofer Drew, is out tomorrow, August 24th, 2010 (via Love Records/Sire Records). The album was produced by veteran producer Butch Vig, likely best-known for his work with Green Day, Nirvana, and Smashing Pumpkins.  Listen to the album now on their MySpace at myspace.com/nevershoutnever.  They'll also appear September 3 on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon.
 
Never Shout Never will also return to the road after wrapping their Honda Civic Tour run with Paramore, Tegan and Sara and Kadawatha on September 19 for a fall headlining tour with The Maine .  The new tour kicks off October 19 in Seattle, WA criss-crosses the USA before wrapping up on November 27 in Chicago. Also on the bill are special guests I Can Make A Mess Like Nobody’s Business and Carter Hulsey. Tickets are now on sale.

WHITE RABBITS and INTERPOL For Autumn USA Tour

MUSIC NEWS -  White Rabbits have announce fall 2010 tour plans for the USA, on the bill with INTERPOL. The Brooklyn indie rockers (originally from Missouri) will be out promoting their 2009 album It’s Frightening, their second full-length album, on TBD Records (USA home of Radiohead/Other Lives/Hatcham Social).

SUFJAN STEVENS' New "All Delighted People" EP Out Digitally

MUSIC NEWS - Sufjan Stevens' new EP All Delighted People is available today exclusively from Asthmatic Kitty Records thru Sufjan's Bancamp site for only $5.00 !  They're also offering a free stream of the EP.

Next week, August 23 the EP will be available for purchase from most digital stores and will appear on CD and vinyl later this year. All Delighted People includes two versions of the title track which debuted on Sufjan's 2009 tour along with six other new songs. The collection is Sufjan's first original song-oriented material since 2006.

TIRED PONY Coming to North America

MUSIC NEWS - Snow Patrol frontman Gary Lightbody is set to release music from his latest project, Tired Pony on September 28 in the USA (out now in the UK) on Mom + Pop. A actual band and not a solo effort, Tired Pony has quite the rock line up; R.E.M.'s Peter Buck and Scott McCaughey, Belle and Sebastian’s Richard Colburn (who's toured with Snow Patrol previously), producer Garret “Jacknife” Lee, and frequent Patrol collaborators Troy Stewart and Iain Archer.

The roots for The Place We Ran From go back to Snow Patrol’s 2008 tour supporting A Hundred Millon Suns, when Lightbody began “writing songs for an imaginary band.” Once the tour was done, he flew to Portland, OR and set up shop in the Type Foundry studio with Stewart, Archer, Colburn and Lee, with Buck and McCaughey joining later on. With inspiration from the works of “Wilco, Calexico, Lambchop, Palace, Smog and more,” Lightbody worked to make an ”American gothic album, a country-tinged gem that looked at the darkness of America.” “I wanted to write a twisted love-letter to the States,” he recently said.

MINUS THE BEAR Announce Autumn Tour Plans

MUSIC NEWS - Seattle based prog pop indie rockers, Minus the Bear have announced plans to to embark on a new headlining tour due to the fan demand and the experiences of several months of sold-out tour dates. Beginning in Eugene, OR on October 18, the quintet will head out in support of their latest wonderful album, OMNI.  The tour also includes a performance at this year's Voodoo Music Festival in New Orleans on October 31st. After that run, they will join up with join Jimmy Eat World on a European, in November (full itinerary below).

THE MAINE To Join Fall "Never Shout Never" Tour

MUSIC NEWS -  The Maine, will be on the road this fall supporting Never Shout Never on a nationwide tour. The shows, which will also feature "I Can Make A Mess Like Nobody’s Business", starts up on October 19th in Seattle, WA and runs through November 27th in Chicago, IL.  The Sire/Action Theory Records' band is on tour currently, headlining shows to promote their new album, Black & White, on the “An Evening with The Maine” tour. 

The Howard Benson-produced Black & White is the Phoeniz, AZ based band's follow-up to their 2008 Fearless Records release Can’t Stop, Won’t Stop.  

ARCADE FIRE Reveal More North American Shows

MUSIC NEWS - With the #1 debut of the new album, The Suburbs’, Canadian indie rockers,  Arcade Fire has announced another batch of shows, stretching from Minnesota to Mexico.   The next run of North American dates start up on September 22, 2010 at the Roy Wilkins Arena in St. Paul MN, moving through western Canada, the pacific northwestern USA, then California before wrapping up on October 12 at Monterrey, Mexico’s Banamex Theater.

MUSIC NEWS - With their critically acclaimed debut album AIM AND IGNITE out now, the pop-rock trio, FUN. are hititng the road, and on a fall USA headline tour, that'll kick off on September 29 in South Burlington, VT.  The band has toured and performed through most of 2010, appearing with acts like Jack’s Mannequin, Motion City Soundtrack and most recently Paramore.  They also appeared at Bamboozle in May, where they were named one of “Five Breakout Bands To Watch” by Rolling Stone.com (is that a good thing, or a way too high setting of the bar?).  Either way, their deserve your attention, go check them out.

MUSIC NEWS - NYC/Philly indie rockers,  The Walkmen have added dates to their welcomed, upcoming North American tour. The run, to support their upcoming new album 'Lisbon', which will be released on September 14 via Fat Possum Records, now has the band playing additional shows in Las Vegas on September 19, Montreal on October 8 and Chicago on Oct 13 (full itinerary below).

A CLASSIC EDUCATION Signs With Lefse

MUSIC NEWS- Euro pop/rockers, A Classic Education comes to us from Bologna, Italy. Pay attention, as you need to know these guys, part Canadian, part Italian the band has been going for nearly two years and have now announced an EP release, Hey There Stranger for North America out via Lefse (on September 21, 2010).  Give a listen to their Gone to Sea tune. Much has happened since in the short period. Formed by Canadian singer and guitarist Jonathan Clancy and his Italian mates Luca Mazzieri and Paul Pieretto, the band is now a six piece with the addition of Giulia Mazza, Federico Oppi and Stefano Roveda.

Over the recent past, A Classic Education has garner considerable attentiona and has been invited to play or tour with Arcade Fire, Modest Mouse, Lightspeed Champion, Okkervil River, Hot Club De Paris, Fanfarlo, Crystal Stilts. They have played a selection of London's best club nights such as White Heat, Club Fandango and Twee As Fuck.
