MUSIC NEWS- Gov’t Mule has premiered a brand new album track “Stoop So Low” today on Billboard.com. Stream it below, along with a special version of the song featuring Dr. John. Both tracks are from the band’s star-pack double-disc album Shout!, which will be out September 24th on Blue Note Records.
Tomorrow, September 11th, Gov’t Mule will take a break from their current North American Fall tour to visit with Conan and perform their single “Funny Little Tragedy” for the first time on national TV. Tune into TBS at 11pm ET/PT.
MUSIC NEWS - Interlocken, a 4-day music festival, with an emphasis on world class music, locally sourced food and sustainability, is confirmed for 2013 to run September 5 through 8 at Oak Ridge Farm at the foot of the Blue Ridge in Arlington, Virginia. Arlington is in central VA, just 35 miles south of Charlottesville, and approximately 100 miles from both Washington, DC, and Richmond,VA.
Neil Young & Crazy Horse, Furthur, Zac Brown, The String Cheese Incident, and The Black Crowes have been booked. Many of the artists will be performing at Interlocken several times over multiple days, and will be featured in artist pairings; with additional performers yet to be announced. Artist pre-sale tickets will be available beginning May 22 at 10am EST and general "early bird" tickets will go on sale May 23 at 10am EST. All Tickets will be sold via interlockenfestival.com.
MUSIC NEWS- Rockers, Furthur have canceled their appearance at the BottleRock Napa Valley music festival after guitarist Bob Weir fell onstage at a NY area concert last week.
Weir said on his website Tuesday that the Grateful Dead offshoot band is "unable to perform for the next several weeks ... due to unforeseen circumstances."
Weir was quickly helped off the floor after collapsing onstage at a concert last week at the Capitol Theater in Port Chester, NY. Further were scheduled to play May 9 at the Napa, CA event.
The statement went on that the 65-year-old Weir plans to return to the road in late June for solo shows.
Weir formed Furthur with fellow Grateful Dead member Phil Lesh. Furthur's summer 2013 tour kicks off July 11 in Brooklyn, NY.
MUSIC NEWS - moe. has announced that moe.down 2012 will take place on the site where the festival got its start thirteen years ago; at Snow Ridge in Turin, NY. In addition to this change, the event will now run from August 10 thru 12, 2012, for three days of music, camping and fun, with moe. scheduled to play six sets over the entire weekend.
This year's moe.down lineup features Grace Potter and The Nocturnals, North Mississippi Allstars Duo, The Wood Brothers, Umphrey's McGee, Galactic, Marco Benevento, Kyle Hollingsworth and SOJA. The revolving cast of The Everyone Orchestra will showcase the talents of founder/conductor Matt Butler, guitarist Steve Kimock, bassist Andy Hess, drummer Jeff Sipe, and more.

MUSIC NEWS - The Langerado Music Festival will rock Markham Park in Sunrise, FL once again with a diverse line-up of thirty eight musica; acts for two magical days, October 8 & 9. UPDATE 8/25/11- Due to Hurricane Irene, ticket holders for Saturday and Sunday are invited to attend the Friday event at Governors Island. The Governor of New York has issued a state of emergency, therefore the DMB Caravan events on Saturday, August 27th and Sunday, August 28th have been postponed. Organizers will announce the new Caravan Governors Island dates as soon as they have been confirmed.

MUSIC NEWS - The “Dave Matthews Band Caravan” is coming to New York City’s Governors Island this weekend, August 26, 27 & 28 and MNN has the final line-up and set times (below). The traveling festival will feature performances by 18 artists, including a full set by headliners Dave Matthews Band each night and an acoustic performance by Dave Matthews and Tim Reynolds on Sunday, August 28.
Governors Island will be the third stop for “Dave Matthews Band Caravan,” which has already visited Atlantic City, NJ’s Bader Field and Chicago’s Lakeside. Located in the heart of New York Harbor, you can reach Governors Island via free concert ferries that will begin running at 1 pm on Friday and Saturday and at 12:30 pm on Sunday from Battery Park in Lower Manhattan and Liberty Harbor Marina in Jersey City, NJ. MUSIC NEWS - PHISH has announced a new USA tour for summer 2011. The run will kick off with a string of Memorial Day weekend concerts on May 27 thru 29 at the Bethel Woods Center for the Arts in Bethel, NY. The 18-concert itinerary continues, currently scheduled to end with a June 19 show in Portsmouth, VA at the nTelos Wireless Pavilion.
Phish is taking ticket requests through March 4 via its online ticketing system. Once the limited block of tickets are distributed via a lottery, general public onsale starts March 11 and 12. The jam band is rumored to be added more summer shows, which will be revealed later in the season. Though a post on Phish's official Web site said that after it wraps up the summer series of shows, "the band has no touring plans for the remainder of the year."

And, they did in full Big Lebowski garb with a stage fll of party people!
MUSIC NEWS- Trey Anastasio will hit the road next month for an intimate USA theater tour. The PHISH phrontman will again be assisted by the Trey Anastasio Band lineup that help him out on his 2010 winter tour; Russ Lawton (drums), Tony Markellis (bass), Ray Paczkowski (keyboards), Russell Remington (tenor saxophone & flute), Jennifer Hartswick (trumpet and vocals) and Natalie Cressman (trombone & vocals).
Named "The Acoustic & Electric Tour", you'll get a full solo acoustic set from Anastasio , then a full electric set with the band. This tour marks the first time Anastasio's offered up both full acoustic and electric sets since 1999 on his intial solo tour.
MUSIC NEWS - The New York State Mountain Jam Music Festival will expand to four days of camping, fun and music in 2011 as host, Warren Haynes welcomes a wide range of acts that include My Morning Jacket, Michael Franti & Spearhead, The Avett Brothers and, of course, Gov’t Mule (see announcement video below).
Once again at Hunter Mountain in Hunter, NY, the fest runs June 2 thru 5 and is presented by Allman Brothers Band / Gov’t Mule guitarist Haynes along with Radio Woodstock. This year’s Mountain Jam will also include the first-ever performance at a major northeast festival by Hayne’s new group, the soul-based Warren Haynes Band.
