Music News- The four surviving members of the Grateful Dead; Bob Weir, Phil Lesh, Bill Kreutzmann and Mickey Hart, will celebrate their 50th anniversary with a special run of performances at Chicago's Soldier Field on July 3 through 5, the band announced today.
The shows, named “Fare Thee Well,” will take place almost 20 years to the day after the group's last performance, which also took place at the same Chicago stadium. These dates will also be the final shows by group under the Dead name. Me Weir told Billboard, "These will be the last shows with the four of us together.
Joining the members of the Dead for these dates are; Bruce Hornsby on piano. Mr Hornsby had worked with the band previously. Also on stage with the band will be guitarists Jeff Chimenti and Trey Anastasio.
