MUSIC NEWS -Today, Partisan Records told us about the October 25, 2011 release of Deer Tick's new record, Divine Providence. Divine Providence was produced by the band along with Adam Landry and Justin Collins, who were also at the helm for lead singer, main songwriter John McCauley's highly acclaimed side project, Middle Brother.
"After so many years of critics praising [and making fun of] us for our 'folk' and 'country' sounds, and hardly ever mentioning the fact that we've also recorded virtually dozens of other kinds of music, we wanted to make a record that was truer to our live set: raw, loud, heartfelt, and completely uninterested in whatever the hell the rest of the music industry is up to," says McCauley. "The results are unlike anything you've heard on a Deer Tick album."

Starting next week Okkervil River will be back on tour in North America. The band kick things off with a string of west coast dates with the Decemberists before embarking on a headlining tour with Wye Oak in support through the rest of North America. Shows includes the Virgin Mobile Freefest, Fun Fun Fun Fest, The Midpoint Music Festival, Nor'Easter Festival, and the Soundtown Music and Camping Festival.

MUSIC NEWS - Following their very well received music video for "L.I.F.E.G.O.E.S.O.N.," London-based Noah and The Whale has debuted the new music video for "Tonight's The Kind Of Night" (watch it below). Directed and edited by lead singer, Charlie Fink, RollingStone.com described the video as "romantic and exciting." The song tells the story of a boy fleeing his hometown and the excitement that ensues from the unpredictable future. You never know how events will unfold "because tonight's the kind of night, where everything could change."
Noah and The Whale is also sharing a free download of the brand new live take of their song "Give It All Back," recorded at RAK Studios in London. "Give It All Back" appears on the band's third album Last Night on Earth, out now on Mercury Records.
MUSIC NEWS - After the first tour since the release of the album trilogy (Hombre Lobo, End Times, Tomorrow Morning) in 2010, EELS have announced a 2011 world tour ! First, a warm-up show in Santa Ana, CA on June 1, the tour will then officially start with the first ever EELS performances in Beijing and Shanghai on June 5 & 6, then rolls through Europe, including their first appearance at the Glastonbury Festival June 26 and onto North America, starting in Austin, TX on July 20 through Los Angeles, CA on August 12. The commercial is part of the coffee conglomerate's new ad campaign to celebrate their 40th Anniversary and the debut of their new logo.

MUSIC NEWS- Neko Case, the velvet-voiced New Pornographers and solo songstress, sings on half of The Dodos’ upcoming fourth album, No Color, so makes sense that she would decide to share a new track from the record with her Twitter followers, right? MUSIC NEWS - A newly-remastered version of Nick Lowe's Endless Grey Ribbon from the long-awaited reissue of his 1979 classic Labour of Lust (out March 15 via Yep Roc Records) has been made available for your listening pleasure. The track was originally released on the U.K. version of the album but replaced in the U.S. by the song, American Squirm (Endless Grey Ribbon later appeared as a b-side in the USA to Lowe's big hit single Cruel To Be Kind). Both songs are included in this deluxe reissue, along with a bonus UK b-side Basing Street.
Initially released in 1979, Labour of Lust is Mr Lowe's highest charting album in the USA to date, but it's been out of print for two decades. The reissue, remastered to its original glory, will be released on CD, LP and, for the first time ever, digitally. Beside the bonus tracks, the reissue also comes with a 12-page booklet that has artwork graphic artist Barney Bubbles, and essays by noted music journalist Will Birch and reissue producer Greg Geller (and former Lowe A&R man).
MUSIC NEWS - Radiohead, who had previously announced that they'd be releasing the new album; The King of Limbs digitally on Saturday (2/19/11), without any fanfare moved up the release to today! The new set is the follow up to their "pay-what-you-want" release of In Rainbows. Don't worry, if you pre-orderd KofL you'll receive it today says XL Recordings. And yes, you have to pay for KoL, but the digital version is reasonably priced.
