U2's 2008 Holiday Gift (No, not an Album)

     MUSIC NEWS - Sorry, we still have to wait for the much worked on new U2 album, instead Bono and guys have released a video of the Greg Lake holiday song ‘I Believe In Father Christmas’ (view it at our Today's Video Clip page). The clip was made for their (Red)Wire digital service that gives a portion of funds to the Global Fund to fight AIDS in Africa.  See Greg's (King Crimson, Emerson Lake & Palmer) comments below (thanks, @U2blog).

As for the new U2 album rumored as being named ‘No Line On The Horizon’, The Edge has finally confirmed the title this week.   The album, which was originally due last month, is now expected early 2009 but no release date has been confirmed.

Create The Next COLDPLAY Video Competition

    MUSIC NEWS - COLDPLAY have launched an online competition where fans can create the group's new video for their tune, LOST.  The Brit rockers want to see what their fans can come up with, just post your LOST video on YouTube.com then e-mail the URL to COLDPLAY at "lostvideos@coldplay.com" by December 1, 2008 and the band will pick the winner.  On launching the new competition, frontman Chris Martin says, "Don't use anyone else's material i.e. Please don't splice together your favourite scenes from Spider-Man 3 and Mean Girls... and don't bother with Coldplay live footage or photographs, as there's enough of that on YouTube already."  A winner will be selected on December 5 and treated to an all-expenses trip to join the band backstage at their December concert in London and tix for the show!

honeyhoney debut cd - FIRST RODEO

      MUSIC NEWS- Venice, CA based honeyhoney gets to release their full length debut album, First Rodeo on October 28 via Ironworks Music/Universal Republic. The album was produced by label co-owner Jude Cole at Ironworks Recording Studio in Silverlake, CA. The first single, “Little Toy Gun” was just released and a cool Kiefer Sutherland-directed video for the track is out now (see our Today's Video Clip page). The video was filmed last spring, and is music video directorial debut of label co-owner Kiefer Sutherland

New KINGS OF LEON "Sex on Fire" Video

     MUSIC NEWS- Southern rockers Kings of Leon released a brand new video of a tune from their upcoming cd announced the release of Only By the Night, the quartet's much-anticipated follow up to 2007's Because of the Times for a release of September 23 in the USA from RCA Records.  The new album was recorded in the band's own locale of Nashville, TN's at Blackbird Studios.  It features production work from longtime collaborators and reknowned producers/mixers Angelo Petraglia and Jacquire King, and the KoL themselves.  The quartet; Followill brothers Caleb (lead vocals/rhythm guitar), Nathan (drums), and Jared (bass), plus their cousin Matthew Followill (lead guitar) comprise the group.

UPDATE 9/21/08 - The group made their Saturday Night Live debut this weekend in support of its forthcoming fourth album, Only By The Night. The Bonnaroo favorites appeared on the program along with actor James Franco just three days before Only By The Night arrives on September 23 !  And check out their newly announced tour dates below!
