OZZY's Europe and Asia Tour Plans

MUSIC NEWS- After wrapping up a successful run of six OZZFest shows that got him some of the best live reviews in his career, OZZY OSBOURNE and his band; new guitar player Gus G., bassist Blasko, drummer Tommy Clufetos and keyboardist Adam Wakeman (son of YES keyboard wiz, Rick) launched the second leg of his overseas tour on Saturday, August 29 at the Ripfest Festival in Prague, Czech Republic. 

As part of OZZY’s 18th month world tour, this leg will encompass 16 countries and mixes headlining and festival dates in connection with the multi-platinum, Grammy Award-winning, Rock and Roll Hall of Famer’s album SCREAM (Epic Records) and features the newly released single “Life Won’t Wait.” The trek includes two OZZFest shows, one in London, England at the O2 Arena September 18 and the other in Tel Aviv, Israel at Heyarkon Park on September 28, and plus performances in Russia, Italy, France, Denmark, Sweden, Greece, Finland, Norway, Germany, Romania, and Turkey before wrapping October 4 in Hungary.

OK Go Announce Autumn Tour and "White Knuckles" Contest

MUSIC NEWS -  OK Go, the most downloaded band ever, will launch an extensive North American
tour with a performance in California at the Los Angeles County Fair on October 3rd.  Tickets are on sale now. In addition to their headlining shows, the band will perform at the Discover Louisville Festival (10/12) and the PopTech Conference (10/21, Camden, ME).  PopTech is an annual event that convenes a network of visionary individuals in science, technology, design, the corporate and social sectors, entrepreneurship, education and the arts to explore the nature of creative change.

OK Go have partnered with Indaba Music and the Rock Band Network to launch a remix contest for their new single, "White Knuckles."  OK Go encourages fans to get as creative as possible, to not feel afraid to redefine the song in both genre and feeling. The contest runs from September 7th through October 14th, details soon @  okgo.net.    Each week starting on September 21, Dave Fridmann, producer of "White Knuckles" and the album Of the Blue Colour of the Sky, chooses his favorite remixes to feature across all OK Go web properties.

SWITCHFOOT Announces Autumn Tour Plans

MUSIC NEWS - SWITCHFOOT released their autumn tour plans this week, with news that The Almost will join them.  The run starts up on October 1st in Lynchberg, VA with pre-sale tickets available through Friends of the Foot beginning Wednesday, September 1st. Tickets go on sale to the general public on Thursday, September 2nd.  More @ switchfoot.com.   

The band, which just wrapped up a summer outing with Goo Goo Dolls, will also perform at Celebrate
Freedom Atlanta, the largest free one-day concert in Atlanta, on September 4th, and the Austin City Limits Festival on October 10th. (See below for itinerary.)

Jackson Browne Takes a "Sick Day", Cancels in Buffalo

MUSIC NEWS - Due to an unspecified illness and under doctor's orders, Jackson Browne has announced that he is unable to perform his show in Buffalo, NY at the Shea Performing Arts Center on August 30, 2010.  His management and promoter are working on re-scheduling, new date currently tbd.

For now his tour (with David Lindley) resumes on September 1, 2010 in Scranton, PA at the Toyota Pavillion.  Refunds for the Shea show are available at point of purchase.

WAAVES Add Tour Dates, Phoenix Opener !!!

MUSIC NEWS - Wavves recently announced their opening slot for Phoenix and Dirty Projectors at Madison
Square Garden, NYC on October 20. Since then, the band has also added seven more shows with Phoenix
extending all the way down the East Coast (see full itinerary below).

The band's also released the new music video for their Green Label Sound single "Post Acid" this week (view it below). The "Post Acid" video was shot in the Echo Park area of Los Angeles. Acclaimed DIY photographer/filmmaker Patrick O'Dell directed. Patrick O'Dell, who is best known for his short-form documentary series Epicly Later'd, has also directed music videos for Morrissey and Panda Bear. O'Dell's "Post Acid" video features friend and professional skateboarder Kevin "Spanky" Long as the alien who befriends the band and embarks on a raucous, fun-filled day of skateboarding, hanging out, and playing a party gig.

GOO GOO DOLLS at the Coffee House Live on Sirius

MUSIC NEWS - GOO GOO DOLLS will celebrate the release of their new studio album, SOMETHING FOR THE REST OF US (out via Warner Bros Records), by performing a special show for as part of the Coffee House Live series for SIRIUS XM listeners. The show can be heard on August 31, at 3:00 PM PT on The Coffee House, SIRIUS channel 30 and XM channel 51.

The Coffee House Live special will feature the band performint songs from their newest album as well as their past hits. The special show will be broadcast live from The Troubadour, in Los Angeles, CA in front of a live audience of lucky SIRIUS XM listeners.

STEEL TRAIN Joins Yo Gabba Gabba! and fun. Tours!

MUSIC NEWS - New Jersey indie rockers, Steel Train has announced that they will share the stage with the cast of  kid's show Yo Gabba Gabba! on the "Yo Gabba Gabba Live!" tour.  Among the other "Super Music Friends" guests on the tour are Mates of State, Amanda Palmer, Kid Koala, OK Go and many others. 

Steel Train joins an illustrious list of the show's past musical guests that includes Weezer, The Shins, MGMT, The Roots, Chromeo and The Ting Tings.  Yo Gabba Gabba! Tour itinerary is below.  This tour is in addition to their other concert plans ; and a handful of one-off shows, and a full blown tour with fun. that kicks off September 29th.

ALLMAN BROTHERS BAND Add Dates to Fall Tour

MUSIC NEWS -  Southern rock legends, THE ALLMAN BROTHERS BAND have added cities to their Fall 2010 tour itinerary, after having sold out a just-announced Philadelphia, PA show and three Boston concerts.  The new concerts include eight shows beginning November 11 and their first-ever performance at the DAR Constitution Hall in Washington, DC.  The Philadelphia concert will mark the band’s first shows since GREGG ALLMAN’s successful liver transplant in June 2010.

LIFEHOUSE Announce Headlining Fall Tour

MUSIC NEWS - After their recent spring tour with Daughtry, L.A. alt rockers,  Lifehouse is now gearing up to embark on a fall headlining tour that will kick off on October 15th in Mashantucket, CT (full tour itinerary below) and features Kris Allen as support act.  And before that, in September they head to Europe, with gigs booked in the Netherlands, Germany and the United Kingdom.

Following the success of "Halfway Gone," the band's second single from Smoke & Mirrors, their new All Intune is already  getting traction on radio.

NEVER SHOUT NEVER Return With "Harmony"

MUSIC NEWS - HARMONY, the new alburm from ne of the year’s most buzzed-about acts, Never Shout Never, fronted by 19-year-old singer-songwriter Christofer Drew, is out tomorrow, August 24th, 2010 (via Love Records/Sire Records). The album was produced by veteran producer Butch Vig, likely best-known for his work with Green Day, Nirvana, and Smashing Pumpkins.  Listen to the album now on their MySpace at myspace.com/nevershoutnever.  They'll also appear September 3 on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon.
 
Never Shout Never will also return to the road after wrapping their Honda Civic Tour run with Paramore, Tegan and Sara and Kadawatha on September 19 for a fall headlining tour with The Maine .  The new tour kicks off October 19 in Seattle, WA criss-crosses the USA before wrapping up on November 27 in Chicago. Also on the bill are special guests I Can Make A Mess Like Nobody’s Business and Carter Hulsey. Tickets are now on sale.

NEIL YOUNG Announces "Le Noise" Release

MUSIC NEWS - Neil Young has announce his new album; Le Noise, will be out on September 28 via Reprise Records. Young recorded the new set without a band in the Silverlake (L.A.) area home of musician /  producer Daniel Lanois (U2, Bob Dylan, Peter Gabriel, Brian Eno). “Le Noise is complete,” Young wrote on his Facebook page. “It is a solo record. Playbacks are happening now.” In its first edition, Le Noise will be available on CD, vinyl and iTunes with a Blu Ray release and an iPhone / iPad application available in October.  Le Noise will be released in several formats, including standard CD, vinyl, digital download, and as a deluxe CD/DVD. The DVD segment, shot by cinematographer Adam Vollick, will feature eight black and white films of Young performing each song solo on acoustic and electric guitar live in the studio. In November, Reprise Records will also release a Blu-Ray edition, featuring Lanois and Vollick’s beautifully shot films of Young.

The Rock and Roll Hall of Famer also reminded us on his Facebook page, “Forgive my use of the word ‘album.’ I am old school. When you buy the songs/movies from iTunes, they show up in your App.”

WHITE RABBITS and INTERPOL For Autumn USA Tour

MUSIC NEWS -  White Rabbits have announce fall 2010 tour plans for the USA, on the bill with INTERPOL. The Brooklyn indie rockers (originally from Missouri) will be out promoting their 2009 album It’s Frightening, their second full-length album, on TBD Records (USA home of Radiohead/Other Lives/Hatcham Social).

WHITES RABBIT is; Stephen Patterson (vox/piano), Jamie Levinson (drums), Matthew Clark (drums, guitar), Alex Even (guitar), Gregory Roberts (guitar/vox).

The Joy Formidable Return to North America for Tour

MUSIC NEWS- Welsh rock trio, The Joy Formidable have announced their return to North Amercia with news of an autumn tour that will start up on November 3 in Toronto, CA.  The trio, Ritzy Bryan (vocals/guitar), Rhydian Dafydd (vocals/bass) and Matt Thomas (drums), will wrap up the run in New York City on November 16 at the Bowery Ballroom. 

In other news, you can look forward to a full length album from the group in the spring of 2011 - they've announced a signing with Canvasback Music, (Manchester Orchestra, Fanfarlo, Annuals), a division of Atlantic Records.

MUSIC NEWS - Red Horse, the new album that features three of Red House Records top songwriters, Eliza Gilkyson, John Gorka and Lucy Kaplansky is out now.  Their self-titled debut album features songs written by members of the trio alongside other classic tunes with expected amazing harmonies and melodies that are soothing and fresh.  And now, we get word of concert dates by  Eliza, John and Lucy.  They're playing select Red Horse shows as a trio and some solo and duo dates around the country.
