MUSIC NEWS - The Edge, Jimmy Page and Jack White will be rocking in 2009 at a theater near you. Sony Pictures Classics will release the guitar film "It Might Get Loud," a rockumentary from director Davis Guggenheim (An Inconvenient Truth, Gracie). The film looks at the electric guitar through the history of each musician, deepens our appreciation for going electric by bringing together three guitarists from different generations: Jimmy Page of Led Zeppelin, The Edge of U2 and Jack White of The White Stripes. It Might Get Loud weaves together their stories to reveal how each of them developed a unique sound. SPC acquired the North American, Latin American, Australian/New Zealand and South African theatrical rights to the film, which was premiered back in September at the Toronto International Film Festival to very good reviews. No word on release in other territories, or the actual USA release date.
UPDATE 1/20/09 - The film will get a Berlinale Special gala presentation at the Berlin Film Festival on February 10 & 11, 2009. And, one of the guitarists is rumored to be attending. See It Might Get Loud screening details .
